The purpose of the teacher participation panel and other
teacher-researcher activities at CSCL 2005 is to bridge the
research-practice divide that is inhibiting school reform efforts,
especially in the field of computer supported collaborative
learning. Teachers participating in CSCL are invited to contribute
to our dialogue in the following ways: |
Teachers
as Reporters |
Teachers attending CSCL 2005 will be provided with a Web space to report
what they are learning to teachers in their home countries and to elicit
questions from their colleagues. At end of each day, teachers will type in
their impressions, written for other teachers who are accessing these
impressions via the web at home.
Teachers
as "Idea Catchers" |
Teachers will be invited to provide their perspectives on the conference at
the closing session, focusing on the applicability of computer supported
collaborative projects in classrooms.

Teacher
Practice Panel |
Applications of computer supported collaborative learning
aren’t just a matter of researchers designing information and communications
technologies for teacher education. The goal for this teacher-research panel
is to understand teachers’ professional development needs in terms of
implementing CSCL in classrooms.
Researchers and teachers will explore trends, issues, and challenges in the
use of computer supported collaborative learning for teacher development
from researchers and teachers’ perspectives.
